The 2015 Utah Legislative session is barely behind us. As usual, our local news reporters were there daily to update us on many of the most visible issues being debated and discussed. And, as usual, the session ended with many satisfied people and probably as many who felt that their cause may have been overlooked or discounted.
For individuals in Utah with developmental disabilities, outcomes were extremely optimistic and an indication that integration is truly becoming the societal standard. One advocate for this vulnerable population summarized it as “what I believe to be the most successful legislative session for people with developmental disabilities and the staff who provide their services.”
