3 Things We Are Thankful for at RISE
Thanksgiving is a special time for many families. Roast turkey, potatoes and gravy, and delicious pumpkin pie are only a few things we all look forward to in November. Thanksgiving is also an excellent time to consider what we are truly grateful for. At RISE Services, Inc., we have much for which we are thankful, but we wish to share three items we immensely appreciate and could not fulfill our mission without.
1. Dedicated Staff
We believe each staff member plays a crucial role in fulfilling RISE Services Inc.’s mission: to create opportunities for and with people. We can only live out that mission with our dedicated and caring staff members. Not only are they responsible for advocating for our participants, but they also support all aspects of their lives. Our team members ensure the physical safety of the individuals they work with and protect their mental health by ensuring they receive the unique support each participant needs.
In addition to supporting children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), many of our staff members go above and beyond their job descriptions. They build strong relationships with their clients and fellow employees and are creative in helping adults with I/DD live more independently. In all interactions with staff members and clients, they are respectful, trustworthy, and compassionate.
2. Individuals We Support
Without the children, adults, and families we support, RISE Services, Inc. could not move forward in helping people live full and productive lives. That is the only reason we exist and have expanded into several areas nationwide, including Arizona, Utah, Oregon, Florida, and Idaho. It is our privilege to celebrate the lives of those we support and foster their personal passions, independence, and unique skills.
At RISE Services, Inc., we are grateful to witness the transformation in the lives of those we support. Some participants may move from living with family to being ready to live in one of our independent living homes. Many people have made several positive and life-changing decisions with the help of our counseling, medication management, and other behavioral health services. While our staff may work with and support the individuals we support, at the same time, they learn from and are inspired by their perseverance, determination, and enthusiasm.
3. Caring Foster Parents
When the biological parents of children can not provide a safe home environment for them, foster parents are available to safely and compassionately care for their children. Like many others, our foster parents offer stable and loving homes for foster children while their families work to create secure and loving living spaces where their children can again live. RISE Services, Inc. foster parents also provide caring homes for children and adults who live with I/DDs.
It takes more than being kind, gentle, and loving to become a foster parent. Many states require foster parents to complete professional training and attend classes for state licensure. Before becoming foster children, many young people experience traumatic life situations. Although foster parents are trained and receive ongoing support from our Family Specialists, it can still be a complex and challenging journey. We are proud of our foster families because they are patient, understanding, and committed to being their foster children’s best possible foster parents.
What Are You Thankful For Today?
During this season of Thanksgiving, take a moment to focus on what you have to be thankful for in your own life. You may be surprised at how much there is to be grateful for. If you have a loved one with an I/DD who could benefit from many of our services, don’t hesitate to contact us today. We look forward to speaking with you and discussing how we can assist you and your family.
