Celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month

RISE Services, Inc. believes individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) can find meaningful employment and live full, productive lives. With training, coaching, and on-the-job support, we empower adults to prepare for employment in their community, apply for jobs confidently, and grow as team members and individuals. We proudly celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month and support our participants through their employment journey as they work towards independence.

Celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month

Strengthen Fundamental Skills

Before we begin the job-seeking process with participants, we help them prepare for employment through life skills restoration services. Each person takes a vocational assessment that can reveal challenging areas that need extra practice, strong daily living competencies, and employment areas in which they are interested. The results of this assessment provide information that can lead our specialists and participants in the right job-seeking direction.

Equip with Job & Life Skills

Providing opportunities is how we support individuals living with IDDs as they reach their personal goals. We offer several opportunities where participants can hone social abilities, learn on-the-job skills, and prepare for employment outside our Opportunity Centers. We coach job-seekers in various life skills, such as money management and meal preparation, and prepare them for employment by practicing mock interviews, creating resumes, and learning how to navigate public transportation.

Advocate for Employees & Local Employers

At RISE Services, Inc., we are dedicated to safety, equality, and choice for the individuals we support, our team members, and the community in which we live. We advocate for both the employee and local employers, as we want the experience to be advantageous for all parties involved. Each professional relationship receives customized support based on type of employment, daily workload, culture and environment, goals and expectations, and more.

Support Growth & Lifelong Employment

The purpose of helping individuals with IDDs find employment goes beyond earning an income. As participants learn life skills, engage in job training, and discover their employment interests, they are empowered with valuable tools and life abilities to grow as individuals. This process looks different for everyone and can include independent decision-making, consistent goal-setting, increased flexibility, and a desire to expand their personal world.
